Λεύκουρη Καλημάνα στο Δέλτα Έβρου
Είναι γνωστό πως από τις αρχές Ιουλίου αρχίζει η διασπορά και η μετανάστευση πολλών ειδών πουλιών και ιδιαίτερα των παρυδάτιων.
Το φετινό καλοκαίρι είναι πολύ έντονο το φαινόμενο αυτό στο Δέλτα του Έβρου με μεγάλους πληθυσμούς παρυδάτιων, από τα τέλη Ιουνίου.
Τα είδη που παρατηρούνται σε μεγάλους αριθμούς είναι ο Μαυρότρυγγας Tringa erythropus, ο Κοκκινοσκέλης Tringa totanus, ο Βαλτότρυγγας Tringa stagnatilis, ο Πρασινοσκέλης Tringa nebularia, ο Λασπότρυγγας Tringa glareola, ο Δασότρυγγας Tringa ochropus, η Δρεπανοσκαλίδρα Calidris ferruginea, η Λιμόζα Limosa limosa.
Μέσα στο πλήθος αυτών των ακούραστων πουλιών που θυμίζουν «κινούμενη λάσπη», όταν τρέφονται στα ρηχά νερά, ή ξεπροβάλουν μέσα από τη χαμηλή βλάστηση, πάντα υπάρχει και μια ευχάριστη έκπληξη, ενός σπάνιου ή εντυπωσιακού είδους, που μας ξαφνιάζει με την παρουσία του.
Ένα τέτοιο είδος παρατηρήθηκε την Τετάρτη 27 Ιουλίου στο Ανατολικό Δέλτα, κοντά στο Νεραϊδότοπο. Ήταν μία ενήλικη Λεύκουρη Καλημάνα Vanellus leucurus που τρεφόταν στα ρηχά νερά ενός πλούσιου εποχιακού υγρότοπου, μαζί με άλλα είδη, όπως η συγγενική της Αγκαθοκαλημάνα Vanellus spinosus που αναπαράγεται στο συγκεκριμένο υγρότοπο.
Η τελευταία παρατήρηση του είδους στο Δέλτα του Έβρου είχε γίνει το 2009 από ξένους παρατηρητές.
Ευχόμαστε να παρατηρήσουμε το είδος και πάλι σύντομα!

It is well known that from the beginning of July the dispersion and migration of many bird species, especially waders starts.
This summer, the phenomenon is very prominent in Evros Delta with large concentrations of waders, even from the end of June.
The species that are observed in big numbers are the Spotted Redshank Tringa erythropus, the Redshank Tringa totanus, the Marsh Sandpiper Tringa stagnatilis, the Greenshank Tringa nebularia, the Wood Sandpiper Tringa glareola, the Green Sandpiper Tringa ochropus, the Curlew Sandpiper Calidris ferruginea, the Black-tailed Godwit Limosa limosa.
Between the crowd of those tireless birds that remind a “moving mud” when feeding is shallow waters, or pop up from low vegetation, there is always a nice surprise, of one rare or impressive species, that amazes us with its presence.
Such a species was observed on Wednesday 27th of July on the Eastern part of the Evros Delta, near Neraidotopos. It was an adult White-tailed Plover Vanellus leucurus that was feeding on the shallow waters of a rich temporary marsh, together with other species, like its relative species, the Spur-winged Plover Vanellus spinosus that is breeding in the wetland.
The last previous observation of the species in Evros Delta was in 2009 by foreign birdwatchers.
We are hoping to observe the species again soon together with other rarities.
